OUR STORY
Demeter´s Pantry Started in 2003 out of my passion for the foods I grew up eating on the island of Crete in Greece as a child and young adult. The heartland of the Mediterranean diet, my island, is world-renowned for its freshly made, healthy, flavorful foods.
Since its founding Demeter’s Pantry has gone through many transformations, adapting to the changing market needs, but always remain true to its principles of offering nutritious, healthy, flavorful foods and bringing home recipes to market. For me, food brings people together and breaks national and social divisions. As people travel more, cuisines and their unique ingredients blend in a creative fusion of flavors. We at Demeter’s Pantry do the same, creating new flavorful dishes out of traditional, home recipes.
In 2008, we ventured out to fresh prepared foods with the support of our customer Whole Foods Market. We created our own in-house brand of all-natural Mediterranean cuisine prepared foods, The Greek Table™, made here in the USA with some imported ingredients.
In 2019, building on the success of our Mediterranean foods, we expanded to Latin cuisine, handmade enchiladas, burritos and quesadillas. We now offer both our own brand prepared foods and private label.

Demeter’s Pantry is named after the ancient Greek goddess Demeter (Dimitra in Greek). According to Greek mythology, Demeter was the goddess of agriculture. She taught men how to make flour and women how to make bread. For us, she symbolizes a tradition of producing healthful and authentic foods.
